Partnering to Intervene for Tobacco and Cannabis Use REduction

Using tobacco and marijuana during pregnancy is more common in some groups, and can make quitting smoking in pregnancy and remaining smoke free postpartum difficult. Because depression symptoms are addressable and are also related to experiences of discrimination and trauma, we are collaborating with people who have lived experiences of prenatal smoking and depressive symptoms to better understand these relationships.  We will then co-develop and test an intervention to address prenatal depressive symptoms to encourage people to quit tobacco and marijuana use during pregnancy and stay quit postpartum.
